Jer 29:5 Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;

Jer 29:6 Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.

Jer 29:7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives (where I have caused you to live), and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

For all Christians - the city or place you live is where God has placed you. It is the place of your assignment.

City Life Church: Service Time to be posted

Bishop Ken & Rev. Marie Delany

Why should you go to the City Life Church? What makes City Life different from any other church?

To start with we are more than one church - we are three churches sharing the wonderful resource of one building owned by Urban Worship Center Assemblies of God Church. We are: Union Tabernacle (Presbyterian), City Life Church (Word of Faith), and Urban Worship Center (Assemblies of God). Each of us bringing a unique prospective to the Christian Faith. We share resources, preach in each others church and in general share what God has given us to build His Body.

Our combined mission is to see you attain to what God created you to be, to locate your purpose, to understand that you are important to God and that He made you on purpose, for this hour, in this country and a mission to complete that you were designed to do. To fulfill the destiny of God you must have the health, finances, family and community support - the support of your Pastor, the prayer of the church all working together to enable each of us to succeed.

Sunday Services

We have two Sunday services each Sunday; the Reformed Presbyterian Service starts at 11:00 AM to 12 Noon. The Full Gospel service starts at 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM Attend one or both services with us.

Abundant Life

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

It is not the purpose of God to punish people for existing on the Planet Earth. God created the earth for his people, to serve them. Jesus came as the very expression of His Father to reveal to us the heart of God to His people. All men turn to God for Hope of a better life. Jesus is offering life in abundance.

Here are a couple of commentaries:

Joh 10:10 - I am come that they might have life, and . . . more abundantly--not merely to preserve but impart LIFE, and communicate it in rich and unfailing exuberance. What a claim! Yet it is only an echo of all His teaching; and He who uttered these and like words must be either a blasphemer, all worthy of the death He died, or "God with us"--there can be no middle course.  Jamieson, Fausset and Brown Commentary

Might have it more abundantly - Literally, that they may have abundance, or that which abounds. The word denotes that which is not absolutely essential to life, but which is superadded to make life happy. They shall not merely have life - simple, bare existence - but they shall have all those superadded things which are needful to make that life eminently blessed and happy. It would be vast mercy to keep men merely from annihilation or hell; but Jesus will give them eternal joy, peace, the society of the blessed, and all those exalted means of felicity which are prepared for them in the world of glory. Albert Barnes - Notes on the Bible.

Family is the basis of City Life Church

Family vs. being alone

Most Christians pray alone, they study alone, they seek God for healing, salvation for loved ones, finances, all by themselves. It is so much easier to work in small groups (family) that support your prayers, encourage your studies, even willing to fast with you to bring answers to your prayers.

You can be a member of a large church and still feel very alone, wondering if anyone really cares. Pastor Ken connects  you to a group (family) to get you support and confidence in your prayer life. Prayer is suppose to work.

Prayer will work for you

There is no "maybe" in answers to prayer. We stand with you shoulder to shoulder until your prayer project is completed. Pastor Ken spends quality time teaching on the “how” of prayer. Then you practice what you have learned with the other members of your group. We place seasoned prayer warriors in each group for support and advice. City Life  Church is here to develop you spirit, soul and body into a mature confident Christian.

Join our family, we want you. We have committed ourselves before the altar of the Living God that THIS Church will make a difference in YOUR life.

Prayer is the very basis of Christian life.

A Christian living his or her life without a strong prayer life has no more power that the non-Christians that live in their community. You may love the Lord, you may be born again and baptized in the river Jordan, but if you do not have a solid prayer life (prayer every day) you will be just as broke, just as sick and just as powerless against the work of the devil as any other person you know. Prayer - communication with the Living God - is the fabric and fiber of Christian life.

You can be a Christian, but without prayer there is no life in you!

Jesus states in the Gospel of John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  Jesus is the vine and you are the branch. In the plant world, water is the critical basis for life and growth. Some plants need lots of sun other plants will live very well in the shade, but they all must have water. Prayer is to a Christian what water is to a plant.
