Community
The PHOPU experience goes far beyond attending classes and spending time in the prayer room. The rigors of studying, pursuing God wholeheartedly, and contending for revival are real, but so is the joy of intimacy with God, friendship with other students and interns, and fellowship with an entire community dedicated to worship with prayer.
Much of the enjoyment of being a student comes from daily interaction with fellow students. Growing in community as well as in faith. Community was a core value of the early church in ACTS and it is one of our core values as well. Christianity was never meant to be experienced alone or isolated but rather in a vibrant community of like-hearted people. This is what we are building at PHOPU.
Courses
All incoming interns to PHOPU will go through our core classes. These core classes make up the foundation of all that we believe here at PHOP. They serve as the theological bases for our believes and our core values as a community. They are crucial to learn and understand within the context of the House of Prayer and will provide a framework for everything else we do and teach.
-
Christology
The foundation of the everything in Christianity is the Man Christ Jesus. He is object of our affection and the One we worship. In order to sustain prayer we must have a correct view of Jesus. We must be fascinated with Him, His life, His personality, and His emotions.
-
Intercession
Intercession is the heart of the prayer room and as intercessors we must have a correct theological view on prayer. What it is, how it works, and its power as displayed in the Bible and throughout history. This will strengthen our own confidence before God in prayer.
-
Theology of Night & Day Prayer
All throughout scripture and all throughout history God has used the House of Prayer to accomplish His purposes. If our desire it to build something 24/7 that is sustained until Jesus returns than this is a paramount subject because it will build confidence and help ensure longevity in the place of prayer.
-
Eschatology
If we really believe that Christ is going to return in either our lifetime or our children’s than we must have sound theology concerning the end-times. We want to know and understand not just the events but the person of Christ in that hour and we want to be fascinated by Him.
Housing
There are 2 options for housing when you become an intern here at The Potter’s House of Prayer.
- You are welcome to find your own lodging, whether renting a place yourself or with others or you may also live at home with your family or with a relative if you are from the Mankato region already or if you have family in the area.
- The second option is to live in a host home. We have people who are apart of our community who are willing to open up their homes to students for the semester. This is a semester long commitment from them and once the semester is over you will need to find your own living arrangements if staying in Mankato.
Schedule
The summer semester will run from May 26th – August 13th.
